Thinking of Buying a Printer

There is an old expression that "if a bargain looks too good to be true, it probably is". This can certainly be the case with printers. When you see a new printer model in a large PC/electrical store that appears exceptionally cheap, we urge you to check it out thoroughly. Consider especially the availability and price of ink cartridges BEFORE you purchase. A growing trend is for retailers to offer printers at rock-bottom prices, but with the inks for that printer only available from the store where the machine was sold - hence at a disproportionate price. Before you purchase any printer we recommend that look on the Tonik website to see what inks are available for your prospective purchase, and at what prices. Wherever possible Tonik quotes the approximate number of pages that any cartridge will produce, be that an original manufacturer ink cartridge or a compatible one. Note of course this can only be an estimate as we cannot know what sort of work you will be doing. Typed text is a very different matter from full-page, full-colour photography when it comes to ink consumption, so the numbers of pages quoted are for an average mix of useage. Look especially for Tonik compatible ink cartridges.If these are available you are sure of a good-value option, so you will never have problems of costs running away beyond your budget. If the printer is very new and hence may not be shown on our site already don't worry just contact us using the telephone number at the top of this page.. We will check the printer out for you. We may find that we-and hence other competitive sources - are not able to sell you ink, and that your "bargain" printer would end up costing you a great deal of money.
